West Bridgewater Sets January 31 Special Town Meeting to Vote on New School

WEST BRIDGEWATER — December 17, 2025 — West Bridgewater schedules January 31 school vote after state building authority approves project funding. The Select Board voted unanimously Wednesday to set a special town meeting for January 31, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Middle-Senior High School after the Massachusetts School Building Authority approved project funding on December 12, starting a 120-day clock for the town to hold its vote and a subsequent referendum. The board also signed a $16.866 million Water Department interim loan note — with an initial draw of $10.7 million at 0 percent interest — and permanently bonded a $4 million PFAS remediation loan for a Manly Street project, targeting a February 5 closing. Town Administrator David announced a $171,000 sidewalk grant secured by staff that will fund survey and design for South Elm Street, nearly covering the estimated $200,000 engineering cost, and the board voted to extend for a second time a Lincoln Street land-swap agreement to mid-March 2026 after winter conditions prevented completion of the access road. Sergeant Kenneth Bryant was accepted into retirement after 38 years of service and immediately reappointed as a special police officer.
