West Bridgewater Holds Commercial-Industrial Tax Shift at 1.46 for Second Straight Year
WEST BRIDGEWATER — November 19, 2025 — West Bridgewater holds its commercial-industrial tax shift at 1.46 for fiscal year 2026. The Select Board voted unanimously Wednesday to maintain the same split rate set last year, projecting an average residential tax bill of roughly $7,432 — a 2 percent increase on a property valued at about $546,000 — while the average commercial property faces an increase of about $1,240 and the average industrial property nearly $5,000. Board Chair Jeff Ryan noted anticipated cost pressures including a potential $170 million school project and rising water loan payments could require moving the shift closer to the state-allowed ceiling of 1.5 in future years. The board also continued to December 17 a long-running dispute in which resident John Centrella has sought enforcement action against a neighboring excavating company he says raised the grade on an adjacent Crescent Street lot by 24,000 square feet — far beyond a permitted 2,500-to-3,000-square-foot septic repair — causing 18 months of yard flooding and approximately $10,000 in accrued Conservation Commission fines that have yet to result in a lien or court action.
