West Bridgewater Select Board Approves Restaurant Licenses, Hires, and Begins Budget Review

WEST BRIDGEWATER — February 5, 2025 — West Bridgewater Select Board approves new restaurant licenses and opens budget season amid state aid warning. The board voted unanimously at its February 5 meeting to change opening hours for M&M Leandro LLC, doing business as Miguel's Table at 105 Copeland Street, from 11 a.m. to 10 a.m. for both its liquor and common victualer licenses, while tabling the entertainment license pending a sit-down with ownership over noise concerns in the surrounding residential neighborhood. The board approved a new entertainment license for Monero's Brazilian Steakhouse at 269 Main Street, the former Grand Slam location, covering 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. with live music, dancing, and a disc jockey. Town Administrator David Gagne flagged a troubling preliminary cherry sheet showing West Bridgewater roughly $100,000 worse off in net state aid year over year, with Chapter 70 education aid up only $85,000 compared to increases of $800,000 and $1.2 million in prior years. The Fire Department requested one additional firefighter to reach 21 full-time staff, a hire the chief said would cost more than the town's entire projected increase in local aid.
