West Bridgewater School Building Committee Approves Design Materials, Revised Site Plan

WEST BRIDGEWATER — August 12, 2025 — West Bridgewater's School Building Committee approved $74,749 in design invoices and advanced material selections for the new elementary school at its August 12 meeting. Fire Chief Lincoln Thiebaud chaired in place of the regular chair, who was absent. The committee voted unanimously to pay an HMFH Architects invoice of $58,666 and a PMA project management invoice of $16,083, with a third HMFH invoice received the same day held over for a future vote. Architects presented interior materials — epoxy terrazzo in high-traffic corridors, linoleum in classroom wings, poured sports flooring in the multipurpose room — alongside an exterior "fold" scheme pairing brick with standing seam metal panels. A revised wetland survey confirmed the building footprint is largely unaffected by actual field conditions, though the athletic field location will require adjustment and pricing has not yet been determined. The feasibility study is tracking at 66 percent complete, with $795,580 billed to date and a schematic design submission targeted for October.
