School Committee · Meeting of August 25, 2026
West Bridgewater School Committee limited alcohol events to outdoor school grounds after a ban attempt failed. A motion from member Peregrine Wiech to prohibit alcohol on school property entirely failed 2-3, with Chair Robyn Dragonetti and Vice Chair Kara Lizardi in favor. The committee then voted 5-0 to allow alcohol outdoors only, pending criteria from the policy subcommittee.
Member Lexi Palmieri argued residents "whether they have children in the district or not" deserve access to the new building. The committee also split 3-2 approving its annual Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan after Dragonetti called it "notably softer" than district policy, and accepted a fiscal 2026 year-end budget of $18,590,895 against an $18,609,917 town-approved total.
