School Committee · Meeting of June 9, 2026
WEST BRIDGEWATER — The West Bridgewater School Committee voted 5-0 to approve Superintendent Bodwell's annual evaluation, rating him proficient overall but flagging management and operations as needing improvement. Evaluators cited a licensure compliance issue involving a district administrator and incomplete budget documentation as concerns. The committee also adopted a new $35 annual student activities fee for clubs with a $70 family cap, and set March 1, 2027, as its next budget hearing date.
Member John Waller challenged staff over rising Advanced Placement Calculus AB failure rates, which climbed from 65 percent in 2022-23 to 83 percent this year, asking "are we not challenging the kids hard enough" to explain high grades alongside poor standardized scores. New member Lexi Palmieri asked the committee to consider remote meeting participation given her travel schedule, and the board agreed to research technical options over the summer.
