West Bridgewater Picks Roselle Site, Advances to Schematic Design for New K-6 School

WEST BRIDGEWATER — June 18, 2025 — West Bridgewater confirms Roselle McDonald School site for new K-6 building, enters schematic design. The Massachusetts School Building Authority's Board of Directors voted June 18 to advance the project out of feasibility and into an eight-month schematic design phase, with a full cost estimate expected in September and an MSBA grant decision targeted for December 12. School Building Committee Chair Gary Keith told residents at the third community forum that the committee voted 16-6 to select the Roselle site for a 1,075-student kindergarten-through-sixth-grade school, removing pre-kindergarten and district offices from the program — cuts that trim roughly $5 million from the project at an approximate cost of $1,100 per square foot. Conservation Commission Chairman Lee Anderson pressed the design team on wetland buffers, warning that formal delineation will not occur until after residents vote on project funding in early 2026, and declaring, "We are going to hold the 50-foot accountable."
