Select Board · Meeting of May 7, 2026
West Bridgewater selectmen referred a plan to merge the Water Department into the DPW to Town Meeting, setting up a May 11 vote. Town Administrator David said an integrated department with two elected boards "is literally a recipe for disaster," while a water commissioner identified as John countered that appointing the board "removes it farther away from the electorate." Even if approved, the change would need a state special act, not possible before January 2027. The board also ratified Luke Azak as WBCAM station manager and Caroline Nelson as outreach assistant, approved a Common Victualler license for Tosca's Pizza with Chair Michael A.
Perez recusing, and split 2-1 on a one-day license for a midget wrestling event at Barrett Alehouse.
