West Bridgewater School Committee Sets January Vote Target for New Elementary School
WEST BRIDGEWATER — October 6, 2025 — West Bridgewater School Committee targets January 26, 2026, town meeting vote on new elementary school. Superintendent Mark Bouswell told the committee Monday that schematic design cost estimates will be presented to the School Building Committee this week, with submission to the Massachusetts School Building Authority set for October 23 and a community forum scheduled for November 6. Bouswell confirmed that the Roselle McDonald site selection, approved by the School Building Committee last April, is final — the January vote is a yes-or-no on the current plan, not a re-evaluation of site options. In policy business, the committee unanimously approved four new MASC-recommended policies covering building access, visitor procedures, meal modifications, and parent advisory councils, while tabling student fundraising policy JJE and booster organization policy KBE pending legal review of a state law barring students and staff from organizing raffles — a provision committee members said could affect 50-50 draws and curriculum night fundraisers that PTOs and booster groups depend on for revenue.
