West Bridgewater School Committee reorganizes, re-elects Gregonetti as chair
WEST BRIDGEWATER — May 5, 2025 — West Bridgewater School Committee reorganizes and advances building project and vocational internship plans. The committee unanimously re-elected Craigin A. Gregonetti as chair, named Carol Lizardi vice chair and Christine Mayaskoski clerk, and seated two new members, Perry-Weach and J.P. Waller, at its May 5 annual reorganization meeting. Superintendent Bodwell reported the district filed a 984-page preferred schematic report with the Massachusetts School Building Authority on May 1 for a proposed K-6 new construction at the Roselle McDonald site, designed for an enrollment of 1,075 students. The committee heard a presentation on a proposed "Career Pathways Internship" that would allow qualifying seniors to earn academic credit and licensure hours in trades such as plumbing while working two periods per day — a vote was deferred to June 2 after members requested time to review the full internship manual. The district has confirmed 21 school choice students for grades 8 through 12 against a budget target of 230, needing roughly nine more confirmations to hit that goal.
