WEST BRIDGEWATER — March 12, 2026 — West Bridgewater School Committee re-votes 4-1 to affirm the FY27 school budget after a procedural fix. The School Committee held a special re-vote Thursday on the bottom line of its fiscal year 2027 school budget — not to change any figures, but to correct the official record following confusion at a prior meeting about how to handle a member conflict within a budget cost center. Both the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and the committee's attorney confirmed the original cost-center procedure was correct. Chair Robin Dragnay moved the committee to a roll-call vote on an appropriation request of $19,526,865 and a total school budget of $22,566,341. Member John Wall voted no, citing his recusal from $45,341 representing his wife's salary in the budget: "I'm going to recuse myself from $45,341 of that, because that's my wife's salary." Members Kara Lazardi, Christine Myaskoski, and Kara Grant Lynch joined Dragnay in voting yes. The next regular meeting is April 6, 2026.
