Water Commissioners grant six-month plant extension

Water Commissioners · Meeting of June 15, 2026

WEST BRIDGEWATER — The Water Commissioners approved a six-month, no-cost extension for the C.R. Norman treatment project contractor, pushing the deadline from October to March 2027. A three-month motion had died without a second. The board also approved a $683.82 change order for a hoist and trolley, and consultants said the project remained roughly half a million dollars under budget.

A water official said use ran near 1 million gallons a day and exceeded supply over a weekend, so lawn watering stays banned until the DEP inspects the Manley Street plant. The board also discussed a meter-pit and plastic pipe request from MJM Construction for 600 Manley Street, with the applicant to seek a state plumbing board variance.
