WEST BRIDGEWATER — The West Bridgewater Water Commission heard updates on the treatment plant, a stalled grant and failing meters. Officials said payout request 12 was delayed by state objections to American Iron and Steel certificates. A grant of roughly $3 million, described as $3.1 million, was held up by a state form with the wrong banking name.
An official said about 169 of roughly 2,800 meters were dead, with replacement set to begin in the coming weeks. Reading by drive-by takes "about five hours," and cellular reading would cost about $20,000 a year. The commission approved the Aug. 17 minutes and adjourned at 5:24 p.m.
