Conservation Commission Orders Violation Notice in Long-Running Stormwater Dispute

WEST BRIDGEWATER — July 15, 2025 — West Bridgewater Conservation Commission demanded immediate wetland flagging for the town's planned elementary school project and issued a formal violation notice in a years-long stormwater enforcement dispute. Representatives of PMA Consultants and civil engineers from Sanborn Head and Associates appeared before the panel in an informal session on the proposed 400 South Main Street school project, acknowledging that no certified wetland delineation had been completed before schematic design began on what could be a roughly $178 million project. The commission's conservation agent pressed the team on the omission, saying a project of that dollar volume should have had wetland flags in the ground from the start; the team conceded the point and said DCR Environmental Consulting Resources has been contracted to flag and survey the site within one to two weeks. On a separate matter, the commission voted unanimously to issue a violation notice with fines against the owner of a property at 6 Crescent Street and to compel the owner or their agent to appear at the August 5 meeting, with the matter to be referred to the Select Board and Town Counsel if no compliant stormwater filing is made.
