Conservation Commission Continues D'Angelo's Wetland Hearing, Eyes Fines for Violation

WEST BRIDGEWATER — May 20, 2025 — West Bridgewater Conservation Commission continues D'Angelo's wetland case and threatens daily fines in a separate stormwater dispute. The commission continued a public hearing on a proposed 9,600-square-foot building at 321-323 Manley Street for tenant Primo Medical after engineer Scott Farrier of Holmgren Engineering acknowledged the property owner, D'Angelo's Corporation, had already filled roughly 4,100 square feet of bordering vegetated wetland without a permit sometime in December or January. Members authorized a 53G peer reviewer while directing Farrier to return June 17 with a revised plan reducing the permanent wetland fill to an estimated 1,500 square feet and providing at least 4-to-1 replication. In a separate matter, an abutter identified as John described more than a year of yard flooding linked to an unauthorized grade raise, buried roof drains, and an improperly expanded driveway at a neighboring property tied to the Verasso family; the commission threatened $100-per-day fines starting May 27 if a required general stormwater permit application is not filed, escalating to $300 per day after 30 days, and discussed engaging a 53G third-party inspector — paid by the Verasso owners — to oversee any corrective work.
