Conservation Commission Approves Modified Plans for Two United Drive Warehouse Sites

WEST BRIDGEWATER — August 5, 2025 — West Bridgewater Conservation Commission unanimously approved revised construction plans for two industrial warehouse sites on United Drive and moved to accelerate enforcement at a Crescent Street property carrying more than $7,000 in unpaid fines. The commission voted to grant minor project modifications for 38 and 40 United Drive, both proposed 130,000-square-foot warehouses owned by Stuart Solderberg of Ajax Partners, clearing a design shift from engineered retaining walls to riprap stone slopes following new geotechnical testing. Bowler Engineering's Nate Kershmer and landscape architect Wayne Violet presented wetland buffer mitigation plans featuring approximately 800 linear feet of native plantings at 38 United Drive and 400 linear feet at 40 United Drive, each at least 10 feet deep, to offset roughly 1,000 square feet of encroachment into the 50-foot no-disturb buffer at each site. On Crescent Street, the commission voted to authorize peer review to begin before a public hearing is even scheduled, aiming to compress a process that has produced over $7,000 in fines with nothing collected, and members signaled they intend to pursue a property lien at the August 19 meeting.
