Conservation Commission Issues River Street Compliance Certificate, Continues Two Hearings

WEST BRIDGEWATER — December 16, 2025 — West Bridgewater Conservation Commission closes River Street sidewalk project and moves toward enforcement at Elm Street property. The commission voted unanimously at its December 16 meeting to issue a certificate of compliance for the River Street sidewalk Phase 3 project between South Elm and Howell Street, after the conservation agent confirmed grass seeding was complete, all permit conditions had been met, and two new dry-well catch basins at Charles Street were controlling runoff that previously flooded the area. The commission also directed the agent to send an enforcement letter with fines to the owner of 245 North Elm Street, who has not appeared before the board despite repeated requests; a chicken coop placed directly in a wetland and a camper trailer parked against the 50-foot buffer were cited as the specific violations. Two public hearings were continued to January 6, 2026 — a wetland delineation proceeding for parcels at 0 Samuel Avenue and 0 Brooks Place, and a redevelopment proposal for the existing car wash at 790 North Main Street, where engineer Kevin Davis of UT Engineering presented revised stormwater and fencing plans in response to prior commission comments.
