Conservation Commission Hires Reviewer, Continues Contractor Yard Permit Hearing to July
WEST BRIDGEWATER — June 16, 2026 — West Bridgewater Conservation Commission advances Spring Street development with seven-acre conservation restriction deal. At its June 16, 2026 meeting, the commission continued the Zero Spring Street hearing to July 21, after Scott Darrier of Homegrown Engineering reported that developer Manny had agreed to place seven to eight acres of adjacent residential-zone land under a conservation deed restriction — rather than design a conventional buffer restoration plan — in exchange for approval of roughly 1,300 square feet of work within the 50-foot wetland buffer zone. The commission also voted to hire a Section 53G independent reviewer for a 15-year-old contractor's yard at 65 Pleasant Street, where outstanding responses from Natural Heritage and the Board of Health blocked a final permit decision. At 32 Merritt Street, Rob Carlosan of Grady Consulting won unanimous approval for a single-family addition replacing a sunroom in the same 37.2-foot-from-wetland footprint, with a standard order of conditions and a 50-foot buffer variance issued on the spot. The commission also granted a three-year extension of the order of conditions for the Cochise Estates subdivision at Scotland and Maple streets.
