Conservation Commission approves septic upgrade, car wash redevelopment at January meeting

WEST BRIDGEWATER — January 20, 2026 — West Bridgewater Conservation Commission approved two project filings and continued three others at its January 20 meeting. The commission issued Negative Determination 3 findings for a Title 5 septic upgrade at 30 Grant Street, where consultant Colin Asumi of Asumi Associates said the proposed 1,500-gallon tank and GeoNet leaching system would replace a cesspool sitting closer to the wetland than current standards allow, and for a car wash site redevelopment at 790 North Main Street, where engineer Kevin Diaz of ET Engineering confirmed all commission-requested changes had been made and Planning Board approval had been granted. A third-phase commercial building proposal at 600 Manley Street, presented by Scott Farrier of Holmgren Engineering, was continued to February 3 pending a DEP file number and consultant review; the project shows 8,800 square feet of proposed wetland replication against 4,400 square feet of fill, meeting the commission's two-to-one ratio requirement from prior phases. Commission staff separately disclosed an enforcement matter involving an unnamed property owner who had widened a wetland footpath to dump-truck width, blocking an intermittent stream, with staff warning that neighbors to the north could face standing water this spring if the disturbance is not remediated.
