Conservation Commission Approves Scotland Street Septic Upgrade, Continues Two Subdivision Hearings

WEST BRIDGEWATER — May 19, 2026 — West Bridgewater Conservation Commission approves septic upgrade near wetland buffer, defers two subdivision decisions. The commission voted unanimously at its May 19 meeting to issue a negative three determination with conditions for a septic system replacement at 84 Scotland Street, adjacent to an off-site isolated vegetated wetland associated with the Cochessa Estates 40B development, and separately granted a waiver for work within the 50-foot buffer zone. Samantha Kripps of PMP Consulting presented the project, which involves a standard septic tank, pump chamber, and chamber leaching field with minimal grading at a renovated three-bedroom home. The commission continued the Zero Matfield Street contractor storage yard hearing to June 2, pending a Section 53G outside consultant report and a Planning Board meeting not scheduled until June 17 — meaning a second continuance to June 16 is possible. The Zero Bryan Street residential subdivision was also continued to June 2, with the applicant's engineer reporting confidence that revised plans showing no 50-foot buffer disturbance and a Bryant Street entrance would be submitted within the week.
