Water · Meeting of October 19, 2026

WEST BRIDGEWATER — The West Bridgewater Water Commission rejected two contractor change orders and approved a third tied to its Norman Street treatment plant project. Owner's project manager James Floyd told the board the project's contingency balance stood at $689,500 even after the approved change, calling the extra costs "not zero" but far below budget reserves. Commissioners voted down a $1,675 claim for extra concrete work and a foundation-modification claim, both from contractor Waterline, saying the costs should not fall on the water department.

The board also authorized a $28,149 payment to Eversource for gas-trench work and delegated signing authority to Commissioner Phil. At the Manly PFAS treatment plant, the state Department of Environmental Protection is withholding the final 5 percent of payment, calling outstanding punch-list items warranty work rather than unfinished construction.
