Water · Meeting of August 3, 2026

West Bridgewater's Water Commissioners pushed contractors to finish River Street pipe work before winter and opened talks on replacing outgoing superintendent Wayne. Members approved the July 20 minutes unanimously and said a subcommittee including Wayne, Jeff and David still has not met to finalize a new job description, which both the Water Commissioners and Select Board must approve before the town can advertise, a process Wayne estimated takes "almost two months." The board flagged two recent main breaks, including an asbestos-cement main near Catano Circle that required cutting out a pipe section, and a July 4 break on a polyethylene service line on West Street. Wayne also said meter vendor Styles Company has not accounted for faulty meters failing before their 15-year warranty mark, warning, "If you can't answer me on that, Neptune, here I come." The board adjourned unanimously at 5:15 p.m.
