West Bridgewater Finance Committee Approves $240,295 in Year-End Budget Transfers
WEST BRIDGEWATER — August 21, 2025 — West Bridgewater Finance Committee approves $240,295 in year-end transfers to close fiscal year 2025. The committee voted unanimously at its August 21 meeting to transfer funds from the town's benefits budget to cover overruns in three accounts: $240,000 for snow and ice removal, $54 for data processing, and $241 for the public library. A town official explained that the snow and ice account is intentionally underfunded by state law, with overruns addressed annually through this mechanism, and that the transfers carry no impact on the tax rate. The Finance Committee's own $67,000 reserve fund went untouched and will fall to the bottom line, contributing to the town's fiscal year 2025 free cash total once certified by the state. The committee also noted that member Jim has resigned from the panel.
